I want to start an insurance company in Florida and was wondering how much it would cost to start one. Do not hesitate, give me your best estimate. Also, do insurance companies keep funds gathered through insurance policies in a fund or do they invest it? Comments? Thanks!
It’s billions of dollars.
They have to have "reserves" set aside to pay claims, which CAN be invested, before they can sell a single policy.
Most insurance companies don’t make money off of selling the actual policy - they pay out darned close to every dollar they take in - or even more. They make their money off the income from their reserve investments.

My home and contents insurance has gotten so expensive. I have never filed a claim and my home insurance rate has doubled. I dread the thought of spending a week getting quotes. Is there a easy way to get and compare home and contents insurance quotes?
Unfortunately, the best way to get realistic quotes for any insurance is to call the comapnies directly. If you have not shopped around in the last five years or so, you might want to consider it, as this can help you stay with the lowest total cost.

I am in a weekend-only program at my job. My employer does offer STDI, but not to employees in this program. I can’t even take a payroll deduction and pay for it myself. I am having a tough time finding an insurance company that will offer STD to me as an individual.
Have you used a reputable company that you could recommend?
Aflac replied that they only do payroll deduction at this time….
Check with AFLAC. They offer short term disability which you can purchase individually. You can check this website to read about the different products and to find a local agent that represents them http://www.aflac.com/individuals/default.aspx.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Car Insurance company pay for accident damage and try to get it back from opponent’s insurance company if he is in fault.
But what they do if both driver have the same insurance company?
Then they just subrogate internally.
Some companies assign each file to a separate adjuster. For you, as a customer, that can be a bit of a pain because you will have to give a recorded statement to each adjuster for their file.
Other companies will assign both files to the same adjuster. That’s easier on you, as a customer, because the adjuster only does one investigation and applies the liability decision to both files.

I’ve heard that everytime you apply for a credit card, get insurance quotes, etc. your credit score gets lowered.
Is this true? If so, how much?
No it does not.
While insurance companies do look at a persons credit now to help set rates, this is a soft pull and has no affect on your credit score.

What can i do if a car insurance company tells you they will refund your money when you get in a accident, and your car is the one who needs to be fixed? And you were covered by them at the time?
You left out a lot of details and we don’t know where to start.
Either you are covered by a policy, or you are not. If you are covered by a policy, it would be in writing, unless it was cancelled retroactively due to non-payment.
If your car is the one that got damaged, only "collission" insurance (i.e. comprehensive) will cover your own damages.
So include some details.

My wife is annoyed at the fact as am I that first auto insurance is so damn high for women. Also we are annoyed at why they now want personal info like your date of birth and credit check. Why is it that it is this way? I think it is Stupid for credit checks always have.
Some places do not check your credit. Here’s the reasons they ask for and require the info depending on the company. Date of birth will classify the applicant in age groups that "show" how typical driver’s in that age range drive, how many accidents they have reported, as well as other driving habits. As far as the credit check goes, it’s because they want to see what type of payment history you have. If you have good credit, and pay on time, they will give you better rates sometimes. If you have poor credit, miss payments all the time, etc. They will most times not insure you. I myself am a Licensed Life Insurance Agent in the state of Ohio. We do not pull credit for life insurance, but our agents do for the property and casualty insurance.

only cover catastrophic loss.
Can you imagine what your auto insurance would cost if you made a claim every time you got a flat or a tune up ?
Or what your home owners insurance would cost if you made a claim every time a light bulb burned out or you wanted your carpet cleaned ?
Maybe that’s the reason medical insurance premiums are so high ?
autoinsurance.bebto.com - try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.
