It seems that liberals and Democrats do not understand a few things about car insurance.
1.You do not have to have it if you do not want it. You just can not own and register a car.
2.It is regulated by the states not the federal government.
3.You buy it to protect the people/property of other people you destroy with your car. (liability is the only required form of insurance you have to have)
4.Driving is considered a privilege not a right.
So knowing all of those things how could someone equate it to a federal mandate to buy health insurance to be legal as the same thing?
In some states when you have a substantial finance statement, you are not required to carry any insurance. Health is not their concern, it is another ply for government complete take over!

Hi my name is Evelyn and Im planning on getting my car soon. It’ll be an old used car. Im a girl. 16 years old. 3.5 or higher gpa. possibly 3.75. Im wondering what the cost for insurance will be when I get the car. I am also currently taking drivers ed in school but have not completed the coarse yet. Does that matter? or should I get the insurance after finishing the class for the discount?
Evelyn, you can’t get your own insurance at 16. The only way is to be under your parents, so ask them.
BTW it is "course".

I haven’t bought a car yet because a lot depends on how much insurance will be. I’m a 27 single female living in Boston, I’ve had a license since 18 but never drove so it expired and I recently renewed it. I don’t have anything on my record. I would be the only person on the insurance. I went online but they required the make and year of your car to calculate the rates.
Hello,
Yes, the rates you pay for car insurance do depend on a lot of factors:
Age
City, State
How many previous accidents you’ve had
Year of vehicle
Make of vehicle
The best thing you can do is actually call up a few of your local car insurance companies and get some ballpark figures. The important thing is, is to find one that you like and trust and who gives you a decent quote.
Your next step would be to go to a car dealership, take the number of the insurance companies who quoted you the best prices along and find a car that you like and can afford. After you take it for a test drive and get as much information as you can such as if it’s being sold "as is" or comes with some sort of warranty etc…
Before any money changes hands or you sign any paperwork at the dealership, call the insurance company from the dealership. Give them the specifics of the car. They will then be able to give you a correct insurance quote.
If it’s a reasonable quote for you, by the car. If not, find out what year/make of car from the insurer would make the payments lower and ask the salesperson if they have any of those on the lot.
Even when you do obtain insurance, don’t be afraid to then further call around or check online for cheaper rates. You can always switch after you obtain the insurance.
I hope this helps you. I wish you good luck in getting a car and insurance.

I have been searching around on the web to get the cheapest auto insurance quote. However, I have tried quite a lot of different service providers but none of their offers are competitive enough. Please give an advice of how to get a real cheap auto insurance quote so I could save some money.
Thank you.
Hi,
You may consider the followings points and you could really save money from your auto insurance,
Nearly all policies feature a discount that increases for every year you don’t make a claim. The higher the discount available, the more you could save. Also look at insurers offering a ‘no claims bonus for life’ feature, where your current discount level can be fixed forever, even if you have to make a claim somewhere down the line.
The excess on a policy is the amount of a claim you have to pay before the insurer pays the rest. Choosing to have a higher than standard excess level will usually mean lower premiums.
Fitting your vehicle with an alarm, immobiliser, or other security devices can lead to premium reductions. Parking you car off-road, for example on a driveway or in a garage, will also mean a cheaper policy.
Many insurers charge you interest for the privilege of paying in monthly installments. Pay annually if you can afford it to avoid this, or look for one of the companies who don’t charge extra for monthly payment.
The more mileage you run up every year, the more your insurance will cost. Even if you can’t reduce your mileage, make sure you’re not overestimating how much you actually do drive, and give your insurer an accurate figure.
The more drivers you have on your policy, the more it will cost. Reduce the number of people insured to drive your car to the minimum possible, and try to get the policy in the name of a driver with the lowest risk profile. For example, if a car is driven by both a man and a woman, insuring it in the woman’s name will often result in a cheaper quote.
You may try this, http://www.mitsukeru.info/go/insurance and they give a very competitive auto insurance quote.

I called up state farm to get car insurance on my el camino, and they want to inspect my car before they give me insurance. I have to have insurance before I can get a title and tag. How am I supposed to drive it down to the insurance place to get the insurance if I don’t have insurance or a tag in the first place?
Tell them that you can’t do that until a policy is issued and the vehicle is tagged. If they don’t "get" it, find another agent or insurance company; you’re dealing with an idiot.
The one time I was told that an inspection would be needed, the company (Geico) issued a policy on the contingency that I brought it to the local office for inspection within 30 days. If the State Farm agent you’re dealing with can’t do that, they obviously don’t want or need your business.

I am shopping for homeowner’s and Auto insurance. Progressive is the cheapest, and I like the fact that they cover pets that are riding in your car too. I am looking at them as well as Ameriprise, and Amica. Allstate and Nationwide seemed high, State Farm and Gieco will not give me Earthquake coverage which is a must. Thank you.

As per insurance the best way to find out would be through a comparison site, fill in the one form, get many quotes, see what suits you best. It saves plenty of time.
Try getting it bundled together with your car insurance if you can, and home.
Just spend a bit getting quotes, the service is free so use it then go for what suits you best, here’s some I have in my bookmarks:

you’ll find more in google
good luck

We just bought a used car today and my dad put the insurance on it. He said we have to wait for the insurance card now and then i can drive. How long will it take for the insurance card to come in the mail?
He said they dont fax the insurance card and only mail it. I told him they will or they will let your print it at home and he said that they wouldnt. He wont listen.
So anyways, how long will it take for the card to come in the mail? Todays thursday.
he is correct. It takes about a week. However, he can go to the office and get a print out receipt that will suffice until the official one comes in the mail.

I know several people who have submitted their information into one of the many "online auto insurance quotes" and now they have solicitors all over them, on their phone, emails, junk mail and even one case of Social Security Identity theft. So my question is: Are these online auto insurance quotes really safe? Doesn’t it make sense to stay with a local auto insurance agent you can do business with either on the phone or in person.
Hi,

Does someone know of an insurance company that is reasonable with it’s rates for a young lady driver with a good driving record but bad credit? Full coverage is needed on the vehicle. Thank you for your time and your answers.
I spent a week in the phone book trying to get low quotes. Finally, I went online & now I’m paying less than
